ABOUT US

         As a freelance designer, Alex made his professional stage debut designing Tango Adamore, which premiered at the Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills in 2008.  A celebration of Argentinian Tango, starring the worlds premiere Tango Stars, while raising awareness of juvenile autism.  Navarro has designed such American classis for the stage as Gypsy, Guys & Dolls, The Odd Couple and Chicago.  Alex Navarro’s rendition of Bob Fosses infamous play Chicago garnered great press when the theatre and costumes burned down the morning of first dress.  Navarro rose above the tragedy and wrangled his local Fullerton Theatre community to rebuild the entire show from scratch in three days for the premiere.  In 2012, after discovering a new love of designing for film, Navarro participated in an experiment, fusing theatre and film.  The project entitled, “Paradise” was in collaboration with artist, actor and director James Franco.  A three-month workshop in which costumes were designed for a series of adaptations of Tennessee Williams’ One Act plays.  Which inherently led to a collaboration of short films in conuction with the UCLA school of Film.  That same year, he had the pleasure of working as Assistant Stylist to Alyica Belle, stylist for the 2012 MTV Awards.  Creating and sewing looks for Taylor Swift’s performance and the entrance of host, Kevin Hart. 

 

         In 2013 Alex Navarro achieved one of his life long dreams of working for the Queen of Burlesque, Dita Von Teese.  He had the pleasure of building costumes and hats for her current Strip Strip Hurray Tour.   After much success at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, Navarro returned to MTV acting as personal tailor to Rebel Wilson and Matt Lucas for the filming of the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards Commercial.  Recently Navarro celebrated the wrap of his first feature full-length musical film, “Waiting in the Wings,” with actresses and former Miss America Lee Meriwether and Oscar winner Shirley Jones.  A survey of American Musical Theatre History with a dip into an all male strip review.  In recent days he has been creating one of a kind pieces for such TV productions as Whitney, Last Man on Earth, Blackish, and Twin Peaks.
